Feral Hog Video by MSU
Mississippi State University Extension personnel has produced a splendid 3 part series on the feral hog pandemic. It is titled “A Pickup Load of Pigs: The Feral Swine Pandemic.”
Video 1 Biology & Crisis
It discusses the problem and the biology of feral hogs (Sus scrofa).
Video 2 The Damage
This part details the damage, both environmental and economic, caused by feral hogs. The cost to the American economy by feral hogs is incredible. The cost to ecosystems cannot be calculated.
Video 3 Control Methods
It reviews the control methods useful in managing feral hogs. The information is sober about the task. No simplistic, microwave solutions coveted by the public. Just the facts and the brutal reality of how many hogs you have to kill in order to manage the problem.
If you want a quick but accurate review of the feral hog pandemic, this short video series is for you. Sometimes the best things are free as this video series is.
