Rodent Inspection Tool
Long-term control of house mice (Mus musculus) and rats (Rattus norvegicus) requires detailed attention to cracks and crevices that allow rodents to enter the structure. The challenge is that eye-ball measurements of cracks and crevices is not the most accurate way to determine if the crack or gap is large enough to allow a rodent to enter. Sure you could pull out a tape measure or ruler, but that is time consuming and a hassle. There has to be better way, right?
Simple Inspection Tool

Fortunately, there is. This Rodent Inspection Tool is designed to quickly allow you to determine if a gap or crevice is large enough to allow a mouse or rat to enter. The narrow end is sized for mice and the wide end for rats. Just poke the gap. If it fits, then the hole is large enough to allow a rodent easy entry.
The Tools Other Benefits
The Rodent Inspection Tool does more than just size up gaps. The point of the tool helps you size up rodent droppings. If the dropping is longer than the tip then the dropping is likely one left by a rat. If it is the same size or smaller, then it is likely a mouse. The tool also has inches and centimeter hash marks on the side to help you quickly measure larger size gaps.

Keep in mind that an inspection is a legal document. Stop guessing during your inspections and start knowing and using standardized techniques. This will not only help you speed through the inspection process but also help your client by giving him/her better information from which to work from.
