Opossums with Dr. Cecilia Hennessy
I received an e-mail from Dr. Cecilia Hennessy of Eureka College asking me about an article I wrote back in 2015. She was wondering what I meant by the North American Continent because I wrote that opossums were the only marsupial in the North American continent. Well to make a short story even shorter, it turns out that my statement wasn’t true. Opossums are not the only marsupial in North America. Turns out, however, that I am not the first person to make such a claim. She wanted to find out where I saw that reference because she is trying to find the original source of the claim.

By the way, if you happen to know of a source that says opossums (Didelphis virginiana) are the only marsupial in North America, Dr. Cecilia Hennessy would love to hear from you.
Well, we struck up a conversation and I offered her the opportunity to come on my Living the Wild Life podcast. She agreed. You can listen to our conversation and hear/see me admit that I was wrong. We also discuss opossums and ticks, her research and other issues related to wildlife.
