My Various Jobs and Roles
No, I am not talking about relationships, though that is complicated too. I am referring to the various roles I play and how I am trying to keep these roles separate. Let me explain. I work for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as the Program Coordinator for Wildlife Damage

Management. In this job, I manage the Internet Center for Wildlife Damage Management http://icwdm.org. I also have a side business, Wildlife Control Consultant, LLC which does free-lance writing (e.g. NWCOA News), research, public speaking, consultation, and expert testimony. In addition, I am on the NWCOA Certification Committee and am the Editor of NWCOA News.
Why do you need to know this? I want you to know this so you can understand why I may need to cut a conversation short. Quite simply, I am trying to try to keep my private business separate from my work at UNL. But I know it can be difficult because all of my activities are focused on the wildlife damage management industry. So let me (try) to provide some insight to help.
If you have a general wildlife damage management questions and don’t care that the information be kept confidential, then you should contact me at UNL (svantassel2@unl.edu) 402-472-8961 (Mon-Thurs Central Time). Always leave a message and most importantly a good time to call. Better yet, e-mail me and make a phone appointment so I will be sure to be available. Part of my job is to answer questions raised by the public, so I am glad to help.
But if you have NWCOA business (e.g. certification issues) unrelated to UNL’s work with training (e.g. Goose Academy, National Wildlife Control Training Program, etc.) then you should contact me privately at stephenvantassel@hotmail.com. Issues related to NWCOA News should be sent to newsletter@nwcoa.com
Understand, I love to hear from people in the industry. I just need to be sure that I am not robbing from Peter to pay Paul. Thank you for your understanding.
